Taeyang and G-Dragon in YG’s Hip Hop Project [Kpop News]

I was going to wait on talking about this until everyone was announced but like I’ve come to appreciate, YG waits for no one and by the time everything will be announced, my posting will be late! Soooo…

Yesterday it was announced that G-Dragon was going to be part of a new Hip Hop Project with YG. This coming of the heels of the iKON announcement and HI SUHYUN’s debut. So what is this project? “Who’s Next? YG HIP-HOP PROJECT”. Here’s what I know, it’s for two new hip hop groups. In one, is Taeyang and G-Dragon. They are going to be releasing a duo album really soon! But it won’t be their first time teaming up as many of you already know. Just recently, on Taeyang’s new album, they came together to record, “Stay With Me” which is a pretty popular song from that album. It’s right up there with “Eyes, Lips, Nose” so this is a great move on YG’s part!

What I don’t know is, who will be the other group and whether or not it’s only two groups. Could this be TOP’s big chance to finally officially debut with a full length album? I hope so. I really really really hope so! I love TOP. But it’s a number of artist names that keep popping up for this next group. Stay tuned you guys! This is about to get really interesting. Will you be supporting Taeyang x G-Dragon?

Taeyeon | Artist Spotlight

Okay, so I’m sure my OG followers remember back when I used to post about kpop news and stories. During that time, you probably remember that I was always talking about my favorite groups and singers and of course SNSD is on that list. So when Taeyeon has a new release, you know it’s more than likely going to be posted here.

If it isn’t it’s because I thought I did because I’ve listened to it way too much already.

So Taeyeon has new music coming and the song that I could find to share from spotify is her latest song, “Weekend.” I’m so excited about this! So as soon as the new music comes out just know, it’ll definitely be here.

Reading and Listening in Korean Practice | iKON-ON: Bobby & Ju-Ne ‘깊은 밤’ MAKING FILM

Okay so I was just scrolling through YouTube today when I ran across this video. Normally, I kinda just watch them and then move on to find some more new music but I noticed something about this video that I really wanted to share with you guys.

Maybe you’ve been searching for ways to practice reading in Korean or even working on your listening but the things you’ve been finding aren’t all that interesting or maybe they’re not something you would use in everyday speech. Well, this is a video I thought would be helpful.

Sometimes I find makeup tutorials like this and share them when I find them because for the beauty gurus that follow me but also want to practice Korean, it’s super helpful! And this is no different, especially if you’re a fan of iKON.

The video is completely in Korean but it has built-in subtitles, that are in Korean to help you follow along if you’re working on listening and/or reading. To help you out some for words you may not understand, just click the CC button for English translation. This video is also subtitled in Japanese so you can switch to that translation as well.

Challenge:

Try to watch it first without the subtitles and then go back again with the CC on and see how much you understood!

I haven’t done this in a while but sometimes while I’m just kinda relaxing on a lazy Saturday, I’ll just click on the recommended videos on YouTube and I’m always happy to hear the new music. Sometimes I get to hear new artists that I’ve never heard of before and sometimes it’s familiar faces with a creative visual for new music.
