So I’m always advocating for finding something that you love and then looking for it in Korean. If you’re really into makeup tutorials YouTube is a great source of tutorials that are completely in Korean with subtitles.
This is one of those examples. I’ve found a tutorial from PONY Syndrome.
She added subs to the video, however, for those of you who are working on listening skills I would say listen to what she’s saying first and then go back and look at the subs. Another thing that’ll help is turn the subs to Korean that way they cover the English subs in the video and you can follow along. So if she says something you don’t know, write down the word and look it up and then add it to your personal daily/weekly vocabulary list.
Another thing, she speaks at the standard pace of Korean but if it’s too fast for you I would suggest slowing down the video to about 0.5. That way you can still hear what she’s saying and comprehend it.
I really do miss posting videos like this. Today I had some time on my hands and was pretty much watching wayyyy too much YouTube. But we all totally are benefitting from my lazy “I wanna watch YouTube” day.
I was in search on new skincare routine and I just decided to go to one of my favorite YouTubers NamiiCho and what do I find?? A skincare routine that might help me out! My acne is back with a vengeance. And with acne comes dry skin from acne treatments and scarring.
But hopefully this routine will help me. What do you guys think? And what are you using?
In lieu of a Foreign Language Tip post, since it won’t be back until October – November, I’ve decided to make this day “skincare/make-up” tutorial posts from… your favorite kpop idols and 네이버Naver celebs! Just for now, I think I’ll alternate between the two. And just a note, none of this is sponsored. I’m nowhere near popular enough for that! hahaha!
Personally, I know some people are actually interested in the products you personally use when you make these types of posts so I’ll tell you. My product list has changed dramatically after a really bad break-out these last two weeks so I’m hopeful that this will work. I use Neutrogena’s hydrating eye cream, witch hazel for toner, Neutrogena’s cleansing foam, and noxema for my acne. Not in that order. Though none of these products will be in the video, I’m sure you may find some that are useful. I definitely will be picking up a product or two after seeing this.
For those of us who love surfing through the web and YouTube to find new and different beauty tutorials, we usually seek out vloggers who are pretty well known. Ever so often we stumble across a new beauty guru who may introduce us to new techniques or products that we have never heard of before or show us a way to use what we already have more effectively.
But what about those vloggers who just so happen to be… Rainbow’s Jisook or maybe even SISTAR’s Bora? You never know who you’ll find on the net! I found this article on Soompi and I thought it was super cute and had to share it. Click the link to see the 10 other idol beauty gurus!
