Wednesday Kpop Update | miss A’s Fei Solo Debut, Coming Soon + BEAST Comeback Details and Tracklist + MBK Entertainment Fighting Back Against Online Comments + New Music Videos

Alright so we survived another week in the kpop world!! And the great news announcements keep coming! Your voices were heard and SBS is listening… TWICE’s Jungyeon, Gong Seung Yeon, and Kim Min Suk  have been officially announced as the new MC’s for Inkigayo. Congrats to the trio!

Taeyeon has a new album coming soon. She’s released teasers for the album and it’s also been announced now that Hyoyeon and DEAN will also be featured on the album. Hyoyeon be on the dance track “Up & Down”. And DEAN, for now all I know is that he was involved in the album. Album release date is June 28th! Super exciting!

Wonder Girls long awaited comeback “Why So Serious” has officially been released as of June 22nd KST. And they have a full schedule line-up…

miss A’s Fei is joining the realm of idols who have chosen to make a solo debut. And I have to say, I did see this one coming. This all comes after news of Jia leaving and joining a new agency, leaving miss A a trio.

For now, Fei is releasing a solo track sometime this summer and then… solo promotion plans?

A representative stated, “The precise date for the track release has not been decided yet. After organizing more specific plans, she will start solo activities.”

(source: soompi)

This translates that they will release the track, test the response and proceed from there. It’s all about marketing from here on out so if you want to see her solo career… Support her solo track!

BEAST has been making comeback plans for a while and now that the date for the official release is approaching, they’ve given the fans what they want to see… details and a tracklist!

For this album, the members actually had a hand in doing a lot of heavy lifting from producing to even song-writing.

“…Many of the songs were produced by Yong Junhyung’s producing team Good Life. Yong Junhyung also wrote the lyrics for many of the songs. Yoseob, Kikwang, and Dongwoon also participated in writing lyrics for several songs.”

In truly disappointing news, yet another agency has had to resort to legal actions against the nasty comments written by netizens trolling on social media. MBK Entertainment is fighting back against false rumors and allegations that have been spread through the internet, specifically about T-Ara, DIA, and Shannon.

MBK stated before that they originally didn’t see much harm in the comments as they just thought people were essentially just “showing interest”. But after time has passed, they realized that these rumors and comments have actually done more harm than good and now they want to seek legal action against the main people involved.

And apparently, they have a whole inbox full of tips from people. Looks like this is about to get really interesting.

And now for new music!!

Monday Kpop Update | Cube Responds to Hyunseung Leaving B2ST Rumors + Woolim Entertainment and SM C&C Split + Block B Comeback with Individual Teasers + Jay Park “The Truth Is” MV

So here we are again, back for another week of kpop news. I have to say, with all the rumors and lawsuits and mergers and splits… it’s a wonder how the kpop industry hasn’t become it’s own k-drama. They have all the elements for a really good one too.

Kicking off today with news about B2ST’s Hyunseung. Apparently, the rumor mill was in overdrive with allegations that Hyunseung was leaving the group. Fans were worried and netz were spreading it all over the internet, all in an effort to get some answers. And now, the answer has been given from CUBE Entertainment. And their response is, no, no he’s not leaving.

“This is false. Hyunseung will not be leaving the group. The six of them… will promote together as is in the future. Hyunseung has plans to participate in B2ST’s future schedules, including the planned B2ST fan meeting in Taiwan on April 4th.”

(source: allkpop)

But how did this all get started anyway? Hyunseung was missing for a good majority of the promotions of B2ST and with his absence, rumors began. Apparently a news site said they had various sources who said that Hyunseung was getting ready to leave and the stage was set for his departure. Huge side-eye.

Woolim and SM C&C are making a lot of people happy today. They announced that they will be merged as one no more! They are becoming two separate entities. I’m sure this may come as a shock to many but great news for those who never agreed with the merger in the first place.

“…SM C&C revealed its decision to separate the video content business and the music content business.  This will result in remaining company SM C&C managing the video content production, management, and traveling agency.  Woollim Entertainment will be a separate entity… returning to its independent state…”

(source: allkpop)

So according to this split, Woollim will now maintain their own music content. I wonder how this will affect the contracts of those who signed because of this merger or even the groups currently under this. My guess is that it won’t be too much of a difference.

I’m just glad this was done peacefully and not as the result of a lawsuit.

Block B decided to rock the kpop world when they announced their long awaited comeback and now they’re giving us proof with their individual teasers for their new single!

Official release date is on the 28th!

How often do we get to hear Jay Park sing? Usually the rapper but I do love when he releases a ballad every now and then. And I guess what? He released a new song. It’s not a ballad but he is singing.. Check out his new song, “The Truth Is”.

Thursday Kpop Update | Jay Park Allegedly Dissing Jyp + IU’s Interpretation of “Zezé”, Publishing Company Responds + Netizens Express Anger After Tablo Announces He’s Leaving “Tablo’s Dreaming Radio”

I took a break from kpop news to talk about other things that I love like food and art. I think I’ll do that every Wednesday. However, in my absence, it seems the mood of the kpop world changed within 24 hours!! First, it was really good to hear that Girls Generation’s Seohyun was cast in a new Chinese film, “So I Married an Anti-Fan.” Congratulations to her on her new debut into the realm of acting!

However, things aren’t all happy in the world of kpop today.

There’s news of netizens calling out an alleged idol who apparently used to be bully. One user talked about it and now others are calling for them to reveal the person before they get famous and fans start to protect her. Yikes. And then of course, Dongho got married. But now he is calling for netizens to stop attacking his marriage! And he wants the reporters to stop too. He claims that ever since it was announced he was getting married, reporters reached out to him to write articles about it but he’s worried about what they’ll say. He doesn’t want or need anymore slander.

And speaking of slander… did you guys hear about Jay Park potentially dissing JYP? Apparently, fans have begun speculating about his new song on his album “Worldwide”. The lyrics seem to insinuate to them that it could be about JYP.

“My old teacher is jealous now that we’ll become same same. You’re a TV personality that sells fans. I continue forward even if you block me. Woah. XX I was about to be asked to a music festival. Yeah. But the old man doesn’t act his age. Childish childish. I’ve been free for five years. I’m at this level even if you block me. I’m doing fine. I don’t bother with you.”

(source: soompi)

I don’t personally know if it’s about him and his agency released a statement saying that Jay Park writes his own lyrics and so only he knows who he is talking about. So until he just outright says, “yes it’s about JYP” or “Nah, I’m talking about someone else”, we’ll never really know.

It’s really all just speculation at this point. However, this is a good marketing tool if he was trying to draw more attention to his album.

But since we’re talking about drawing attention to an album, IU has become another offender.

Apparently, on her new album “CHAT-SHIRE”, she has a song “Zezé”. I’m sure by now you’ve probably heard that the lyrics describe Zezé as being “cunning” and not as innocent as he may seem. Well, not only did fans take issue with the song but now Dongnyok Publishing Company, which published “My Sweet Orange Tree” has spoken out as well. They began their statement explaining that Zezé is “not that kind of child” and also quote the offending lyrics.

Here’s an excerpt of their official statement but click the link to see it in full.

“…Zeze is a five-year-old child who gets abused by his family and is full of hurt. So many readers shed tears at Zeze’s words, ‘Why must children grow up?’ However, Zeze is cunning in the song made from the point of [the tree]? ‘My Sweet Orange Tree’ is also an autobiographical novel of the writer. It is also a book that is meant to console the many Zezes who could even now be getting hurt. The writer had an intention [to console other Zezes] yet you assess the work like this…”

(source: allkpop)

They continue on by saying that she’s allowed to interpret as she wishes in regards to freedom of expression, however, her choice of expression and interpretation was disappointing and upsetting to them. And I can understand that 1000%. It is unnerving and it’s an upsetting image that she’s drawn with those lyrics. I don’t personally think she meant for it to take on the life that it has but it would be nice if she were to say something on her interpretation.

IU is staying silent but I do hope she plans on addressing it soon.

And last but not least, Tablo is receiving hate from netz. (again.)

But this time, it’s because he’s leaving a radio show. That’s right! They’re upset with him for leaving his radio show.

On November 3, during MBC FM4U’s “Tablo’s Dreaming Radio,” the male rapper announced he will be leaving the show. “I was happy while leading ‘Dreaming Radio’ for the past two years. November 15 will be my last day… I am sorry I was absent for many days thanks to the concerts and national tour supported by all this unexpected love,” he says. “Though I’m not sure when I’ll be back, I’ll be sure to pay back all your love with good music.”

(source: soompi)

He has a great reason for leaving, he’s working on his music. But apparently, fans were disappointed and expressed their emotions by bringing up things that had absolutely nothing to do with him leaving. All his past controversies they decided to bring back up into the spotlight.

Of course it wasn’t everyone. Others did wish him well and hope that he does in fact decide to return.

That’s enough internet for one day.

Jay Park | Hints at Two Music Videos for Comeback + “Solo” Preview

I follow Jay Park on instagram, so when I saw these two posts earlier today I honestly didn’t think anything of it. I just listened, liked and scrolled. But it wasn’t until I saw this trending that I went back and saw that this could actually be a big deal! (To my defense, he’s always updating his instagram. Like he floods my feed most days…)

I saw the part where he says: “3 countries, 4cities, 4 show’s and 2 M/V’s all in two weeks” and immediately thought, are we gonna get two new songs? He did it last time so it could be a possibility this time. Either way, I’m excited and definitely ready to hear some new music from him!

“3 countries, 4cities, 4 show’s and 2 M/V’s all in two weeks~~ happy to not be on a plane~~ 이주안에 나라3군데에다가 도시4군데에서공연하고 뮤비두게찍고 이제드뎌서울와서 낼비행기안타도되서 너무좋음~ #AOMG #followthemovement #LA #NY #DAEGU #SEOUL #SHANGHAI $olo ₩orld₩ide”
