Wednesday Kpop Update | CUBE Entertainment Releases Statement on Fake SNS Accounts for CLC + Teen Top Announces a Solo and Group Comeback + MAMAMOO Covers Top English Songs

Fake accounts are a favorite past time for many people on social media. Some are parody accounts of a living person or an inanimate object. And then there are the fake sns accounts that are perpetrating as the real deal. The issue has gotten so bad for particular group kpop group that their label had to step in on their behalf!

What group? CUBE Entertainment’s girl group, CLC.

They released a statement saying:

“…Below are the official url addresses for both CLC and Cube social media accounts.

Twitter: https://twitter.com/cubeclc
Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/CLC.UnitedCube/

Please note with the exception of the listed links above, all other Twitter and Facebook pages belong to impersonated accounts. Such unauthorized accounts masquerading as official like on Instagram and many others are not organized by CLC or Cube Entertainment…”

(full statement here at allkpop)

I guess it’s probably time to stop now for all those doing it. The account is going to get shut down sooner or later.

Solo artists and group comebacks can be the highlight of any year. And that’s no exception for the latest announcement from Teen Top! Prepare yourselves, Niel’s solo comeback is on the way and so is a group comeback!

And finally, MAMAMOO is one of those groups that can remake a song and have you just completely in love with their version. They have the ability to make any song all their own. But what if there were 7 of these songs? Apparently, MAMAMOO has recorded covers to 7 top charting songs in English. Songs like, John Legend’s “All of You”, Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You”, Stooshe’s “Love Me”, and a few others. I won’t post all the videos here, but you can listen to their covers at this link on koreaboo.

Weekend Kpop Update | Super Junior’s Kyuhyun Lectures Fans + Starship Entertainment Releases Group Teaser+ BTS “Run” and Yerin Baek “Across The Universe” (video)

It was a very busy weekend in the kpop world. I usually start writing this on Friday and finish on a Sunday but this weekend was kinda quiet… until today. For starters, congrats to Daebak on “The Return of Superman” who took his first steps on the show! So cute! Zico released a tracklist for his first mini-album and TaeTiSeo and Lovelyz also released teasers for their upcoming music as well.

Busy right?

But I think my favorite part of the weekend was when Super Junior’s Kyuhyun lectured fans for their irresponsible behavior. Apparently, people got hurt over the impatience of fans at a recent concert. They were pushing and shoving and running and well… he took to twitter let them know how he really felt about their behavior.

I’m disappointed even though the performance wrapped up well. I told everyone numerous times to be careful and not run but in the end they shoved [each other] and fell..if something like this happens again, I’m just going to leave without seeing the fans’ faces..Please relay this message to the fans overseas, too.”

I actually think that was the best way to handle it. Really nothing else needs to be said. He was being serious and I really hope people take heed in the future. Stampedes happen in situations like this and people have died from it. It’s serious.

Starship Entertainment is gearing up for a new winter comeback track. Ahhh, it seems like only yesterday they released their last one that I adored so much.

I love how cute that looks! It’s a yearbook for the end of the year.

And now for the moment you’ve all been waiting for… new music!

Wednesday Kpop Update | Unpretty Rapstar 2 “Rigged” Accusations + SM Entertainment New Group + 9Muses Comeback and Teasers

First off,  Happy Belated Pepero Day! (I couldn’t go without saying that after seeing story after story surrounding it.) I will say that today was a little better in the kpop world. There wasn’t much controversy today. LuHan released a new music video. Or rather, it’s not new, I just saw it today on allkpop. It’s nice to see he is truly persistent in continuing to sing. 15&’s Baek Yerin is also apparently getting back to singing as well. She has allegedly been working on a solo project in secret and may even be about to release a music video.

Alexandra of RAINA talked about what it is like to be a member of the girl group that’s been garnering a lot of attention due to her addition. She published a posted entitled, “Being Alex Reid” where she talks about her love for kpop and how this has been something she’s wanted to do for a long time. For her, it is truly a dream come true. I’m really happy for her.

I wish I could say the same for Unpretty Rapstar 2.

Unpretty Rapstar 2 has been surrounded by controversy for quite some time now. Since the line-up was first announced, people have found many many reasons to hate the new season. And let’s be honest, Truedy didn’t help much at all with her antics, causing netz to call her a “cosplayer” for trying to pass as Afro-Korean.

But now, a new topic has emerged in the “we hate Unpretty Rapstar” campaign, is the show rigged? Allegedly, it just might be. It seems that the winner of the show was chosen long before the show even aired. Of course, this is all just alleged and not actually proven true. But why are people believing it?

“It’s now been revealed that Truedy, Heize, Kasper, and Ash-B had actually signed contracts with Mnet (CJ E&M) before the show started filming. It’s actually not new because one of the girls had been revealed to have left her company and signed with CJ E&M before the show started airing, but back then, CJ E&M had stated that the rumors were false.”

(source: allkpop)

Now of course, all of that could be explained away and it hasn’t exactly been proven just yet. But it is cause for concern if it’s true. Already, Kasper, Heize, and Ash-B have been eliminated. So will Truedy be the winner? Win or lose, it’s true that the four of them signed with Mnet before this show aired, there’s going to be a serious problem not only with credibility but also with objective and non-bias voting.

We shall see what happens.

But in the meantime, it’s no secret that SM Entertainment has been planning on creating this new multinational group next year. They’re still in the development stages and planning out many different projects. But this new group is the main thing on everybody’s mind at the current moment.

So why is this new group of such importance? Well because the sound is going to be something totally different from what SM has previously produced. The music from SM has been pretty varied thus far and they have an explanation for it.

According to Lee Sung Soo, the production team leader, SM has been trying to find their identity over the last few years.

“It can be said that the past few years have been a time to ‘find ourselves’ at SM… The agency needed to think about the music we were good at and the music that people want to hear…We are definitely going to use the know-how we’ve piled up over the years… The new group will be an extension of EXO. After H.O.T., TVXQ, and EXO, we are trying to continue the trend of producing a hit male group every five years or so.”

Fans are already picking out who they want to be included in this group and even saying how big the group should be. I have my own personal picks for it but I think I’ll keep that to myself for now. I haven’t been doing to well with the guessing game these days.

But thankfully, I don’t have to guess about this! 9Muses Comeback!!

The ladies have officially announced their comeback and despite Sungah’s ankle injury, the date won’t change. Get well soon Sungah!

Wonder Girls | “REBOOT” Album Preview + HA:TFELT Edits Group Teaser

It’s been a busy few weeks for the Wonder Girls. And though I never really listened to them much before, being about to witness this comeback and new vision for them has truly been an exciting experience! Not to mention, I love the preview for their new song “I Feel You” and the album sounds amazing!

But Yeeun a.k.a HA:TFELT has a huge sense of humor and has decided to take the group teaser and just “tweak” it a bit. Yeeun’s vision of the teaser is way cooler if I do say so myself! Hahaha! Just a little fun before the big comeback – band debut.

If you haven’t heard the album teaser yet, check it out below! It definitely has an 80’s feel to it!
