Weekly Lesson #27 | 시에, 시부터, 까지 pt. 2

안녕하세요!

So last week I skipped Thursday somehow. It’s finals week so forgive me for my forgetfulness!

Let’s just right into the lesson!

Review:

Vocabulary:

일어나다 | to get up
세수하다 | to wash your face

Grammar Tip:

For this lesson, you will need to remember how to tell time. [See last week’s lesson for links to telling time.]

i.e.,

  • 여섯 시 반에 일어나. | “I get up at 6:30.”
  • 일곱 시에 세수합니다. | “I wash my face at 7.

Vocabulary:

  • 저녁 | dinner
  • 일하다 | work
  • 공부하다 | study
  • 자다 | sleep

Grammar Tip:

  • Last week, we talked about 시에. Remember that 시 is a time particle and 에 is a time marker.
  • This week, we’re looking at 시부터 and 까지.
    • 부터 | from
    • 까지 | to
      • “from(부터) 9 to(까지) 2”

i.e.,

  • 일곱 시부터 일곱 시 반까지 저녁을 먹었어.  | I eat dinner from 7:00 to 7:30.
  • 열한시 부터 한시 까지 공부하는 . | I am studying from 11:00 to 1:00.

와인 (wain) | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

Word:

  • 와인 (wain) | “wine”

i.e.,

  • 와인과 치즈 (waingwa chijeu) | wine and cheese
  • 와인을 원하니? (wain-eul wonhani?) [female] | “Do you want wine?”
    • 와인을 원하냐? (wain-eul wonhanya?) [male]
  • 나는 저녁 식사와 함께 와인을 마셨다. (naneun jeonyeog sigsawa hamkke wain-eul masyeossda.) | “I drank wine with dinner.”

니아 (Nieah) | [Artist of the Week]

I was soo shocked I did not have 니아 here already as Artist of the Week! I searched twice to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me!! But that just means she will be now.

If you haven’t heard of 니아 (Nieah) then you are in for a real treat today if you are fan of R&B. She’s one of those artists that fall into the Neo-R&B category (as I have dubbed it.) I call it Neo because it’s a classic R&B sound with a pop feel to it. But I love her music and I’m pretty sure I’ve had her song “No Rush” on repeat forever!

Check out the sample playlist below featuring her music!
