빨간색 (ppalgansaeg)| [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

Who doesn’t want to memorize colors? Amiright? We’re going to spend some time on learning colors! Why? Because who wants to know how to say things without being super specific?

Word:

빨간색 (ppalgansaeg) | red

i.e.,

  • 빨간(색) 사과 | red apple
    • I put 색 in parenthesis because it literally means color. So this says something like “Red colored apple” and so you don’t actually need to use it when you say 빨간, however it is still important for you to know it.
  • 빨간(색) 셔츠 | red shirt
  • 빨간(색) 차 | red car

Weekly Lesson #5 | …어디에요?

안녕하세요!

Okay so this post is being posted a lot later than I thought it would be! I got way too busy over my break. Hope you all enjoyed your break too in the states! I was thinking about introducing 있니 which can be used as just a shortened version of 입니까 but I’m not sure how I want to do it just yet. I will soon though.

Today’s lesson will be super short! We’re still talking about location and directions.

Let’s get started!

Vocabulary:

  • 공원 | park
  • 병원 | hospital
  • 호텔 | hotel
  • 학교 | school
  • 방 | room
  • 도서관 | library

Questions | …어디에요?

  • 공원 어디에요? | “Where is the park?”
  • 병원 어디에요? | “Where is the hospital?”
  • 학교 어디에요? | “Where is the school?”

Sample:

  • Mino: 도서관 어디에요? | “Where is the library?”
  • Mina: 저쪽에 입니까? | “Is it over there?”
    • 저쪽에 | directional term meaning “over there” same as 저기.
  • Mino: 오, 네 고마워. | “Oh. Yea, thanks!”
