Korean “Layering Skincare” Routine [video]

I really do miss posting videos like this. Today I had some time on my hands and was pretty much watching wayyyy too much YouTube. But we all totally are benefitting from my lazy “I wanna watch YouTube” day.

I was in search on new skincare routine and I just decided to go to one of my favorite YouTubers NamiiCho and what do I find?? A skincare routine that might help me out! My acne is back with a vengeance. And with acne comes dry skin from acne treatments and scarring.

Fun times…

But hopefully this routine will help me. What do you guys think? And what are you using?

Help!

고맙습니다! Expressions of Gratitude (video)| [Grammar of the “Day”]

안녕하세요!

I haven’t watched this show in so long! But I stumbled on today while I was just searching through YouTube and decided to do things differently this week. I’m not sure if this show is even still on the air however, it is one of the best shows I’ve seen in passive learning for Korean. So this week I’ll be posting these videos but don’t worry I won’t let the video do all the work.

Today’s lesson is on Expression of Gratitude as in, someone does something for you and you want to express your gratitude for what they’ve done. More of a repayment type of phrase.

Ways to express gratitude:

  • 고맙습니다 | “thank you”
    • the video notes this as a being a basic greeting to say “thank you” to someone who has offered you assistance
  • 이 은혜를 어떻게 갚아야 될지 모르겠어요. | “I don’t know how I could repay for your favor.”
    • the video notes this as just an expression of heartfelt gratitude that comes after saying “thank you”

But what are some other ways to express gratitude? The video provide two additional examples as well as a bonus.

We’ve talked about how to ask someone their name before but how do you ask a stranger? Is there a different way?

Check out the video below!

공원/동물원 + -고 (gong-won/dongmul-won)| [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

Alright so to end this week I decided to do a sentence that is not just about “I” but about “we” using some new vocabulary. I’m preparing for the new vocabulary list each week to go with the Grammar of the Week.

Let’s get stated!

공원 | park

동물원 | zoo

i.e.,

  • 우리는 공원고 동물원에 갈거야. (ulineun gong-wongo dongmul-won-e galgeoya.) | “We’re going to park and the zoo.”

That’s it for this week!

접시를 씻었다 + -고 (jeobsileul ssis-eossda)| [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

I guess this is just a bit of household chores again like last week. We used this before so I won’t do extra sentences on it. Just wanted to show how it can be used again using -고.

Let’s get started!

접시를 씻었다 | washed dishes

i.e.,

  • 나는 요리를하고 접시를 씻었다. (naneun yolileulhago jeobsileul ssis-eossda.) | “I cooked and washed dishes.”

That’s it for today!
