We’ve talked about different ways to connect sentences in the past. The one that comes to mind is 하고 which, when added into a sentences, takes on the meaning of “and”. This week we’ll be focusing on 그리고 as well as 고. We’ve talked about 고 before too. Just like 하고 when added to a sentence it also takes on the meaning of “and”.
Let’s get started!
그리고 | “and then”/ “and”
- used to connect two streams of thought
- placed at the beginning of the second sentenc
Sentences can be about two independent things:
- 그는 저녁식사 먹었어. 그리고 그녀는 물 마신. | He ate dinner and she drank water.
Sentences can be a sequence of events.
- 그녀는 저녁식사 먹었어. 그리고 영화를 봤다. | She ate dinner and then she watched a movie.
So this week, will look at ways to use 그리고 in a sentence and then next week we will revisit 고.
