가다 (gada) + -고 싶어하다 | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

Today, just like yesterday we’re going to be looking at expressing the wants/wishes of others. I discovered while doing this that I happened upon a new topic we haven’t gone over yet. I’ll discuss that in this post.

We’ll start by looking at another familiar verb.

가다 (gada) |“to go” + -고 싶어하다 (-go sipeohada)

i.e.,

  • 그는 가고 싶어한다. (geuneun gago sipeohanda.) | “He wants to go.”
  • 그녀는 영화를 보러 가고 싶어해요. (genyeoneun yeonghwaleul boleo gago sipeohaeyo.) | “She wants to go see a movie.”
Alright so in all honesty the second example kinda confused me a bit while I was writing it and I ended up having to get some help to word it a little better. As in, boleo confused me and as I did research I found out that this is a grammar topic we haven’t discussed yet and sooooooo we will be going over it in the future as I learn more about it.
So that’s it for today!
