After last week’s grammar lesson and the video for this week, I decided to revisit “Kpop Teaches Korean Too” for today. I don’t know if it’ll be for the whole week just yet. Today’s word comes from a new and already very popular song, “Goodbye” by 2NE1. It was their farewell song for the fans and there’s a story behind it as well that we’ll talk about tomorrow during the Wednesday Kpop Update for those who haven’t heard.
But for today, let’s check out this word!
속다 (sokda) | “to be deceived; to get cheated”
- 나 그에게 속았다. (na geuege sog-assda.) | “I was deceived by him.”
In the song, 속다 is conjugated to say 속지마 meaning, “don’t be deceived”. How? Remember, -지마 is a negative ending meaning, “don’t”.
Alright so that’s it for today!
