Alright so today we’re talking about “lies”. Not really lying to anyone per se, but let’s say you were asked the question, “나에게 거짓말을하고 있니?” (Are you lying to me?) And you wanted to respond in a way to say that you would not. Now, naturally the normal response to this would be something like, “No!”
But what if you wanted to be a bit elaborate?
거짓말 결코하지 않을 (geojismal gyeolkohaji anh-eul) | 거짓말 (lie) + 결코하지 않을 (never/never do)
i.e.,
- 넌 거짓말 결코하지 않을거예요. (neon geojismal gyeolkohaji anh-eulgeoyeyo.) | “I will never lie to you.”
- [“I” is understood. However, in most instances it is best to include 난 or 나 or나는.]
If you notice in the example I brought back a familiar topic as well. Did you notice it? The usage of 거예요. I thought I’d slip that in to show that you can combine all the grammar principles you’re learning to create sentences.
