싫어 + 것 같아 | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

This post is a day late and that was my mistake. I went to the movies yesterday and I totally forgot to blog. 미안해! (s/n: Rogue One was awesome!) However, I’m here now! And so without further ado, let’s get started!!

싫어 | conjugated form of 싫어하다 meaning, “to hate” or “to dislike”

We’re creating a sentence that follows the grammar lesson for this week using the ending 것 같아, “to seem like, to be likely, or probably”.

i.e.,

  • 그 영화를 싫어할 것 같아. (geu yeonghwaleul silh-eohal geos gat-a.) | “I will probably not like that movie.”

I picked a familiar word, 영화 since I did go to the movies yesterday. However, this same structure can be used to say something else you probably wouldn’t like. For example, “that dessert”. You can also add why you probably wouldn’t like it.

  • 무서운 영화이기 때문에 그 영화를 싫어할 것 같아. (museoun yeonghwaigi ttaemun-e geu yeonghwaleul silh-eohal geos gat-a.) | “Because it’s a scary movie, I probably will not like that movie.” {무서운 (museoun) | “scary”}

Okay so that’s it for today!
