“가야 돼요.” (gaya dwaeyo) | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

To end this week, we are going to do one last example for the intermediate level of have to/should do/must do. I already have in mind the type of lesson for next week so let’s finish this week strong with a phrase!

“가야 돼요.” (gaya dwaeyo) | “I have to go.”

Now, even though that’s a phrase, you can add to it to expound on this sentence.

i.e.,

  • 집에 가야 돼요. (jib-e gaya dwaeyo.) | “I have to go home.”
  • 회의에 가야 돼요. (hoeuie gaya dwaeyo.) | “I have to go to the meeting.”
  • 케이크를 사러 가야 돼요. (keikeuleul saleo gaya dwaeyo.) | “I have to go buy a cake.”

Okay, the last sentence kinda sounds weird but you do you see where I’m going with this? You can add on to this example and create your own sentences.

So, 어디로 가야합니까? (Where do you have to go?)

See ya next week!
