제공되다 (jegongdoenda) | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

We’re back to talking about passive verbs. The more I read this topic and the more I try to come up with examples, the more my eyes start crossing. I’ve reached the point where I understand it and I can use it in everyday application, but I’m struggling with how to explain it. I just hope that thus far and by tomorrow I would’ve been able to make this topic make sense to you guys.

Let’s get started!

제공되다 (jegongdoenda) | “to be provided”

i.e.,

  • 식사는 레스토랑에 의해 제공되었어. (sigsaneun leseutolang-e uihae jegongdoeeoss-eo.)| The meal was provided by the restaurant.
  • 교통이 될 것 제공되다. (gyotong-i doel geos jegongdoenda.) | Transportation will be provided.

I tried to use both past and future tense because I wanted you to see that you don’t have to reserve this only for past tense use. This can be used for past, present and future tense in everyday application.

Alright, that’s it for today!
