갈게요 (galgeyo) | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

I have been hard at work on the Grammar of the Week for next week and today I decided to give you a sneak peak of what we’ll be discussing. You may have heard this word a lot in different k-dramas, movies, maybe even songs and just didn’t realize that you already knew this word.

갈게요 (galgeyo) | “(I) in reference to going somewhere”

We will go into more detail next week during the Grammar of the Week but basically, this word is expressing “going” in a singular since. So instead of saying “나는…가세요” or anything phrasing regarding 가다 when talking about yourself, you would use this phrase.

I’m not going to go into a whole lot of detail here because this is a full grammar lesson involving (을)게요, but we will be talking about this. After I post the Grammar of the Week, I’ll update this post below with more information for like a “quick stop” in the event you just want to read a “spark notes version” on this particular word and how to use it.

See ya next week!
