속삭이다 (sogsagida) | [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요!

I remember I said last week that I was going to continue on with the theme… (I think animals?) but then I got distracted and now here we are talking about noises. We are able to verbalize things like “speaking” or “talking” in Korean. But maybe not necessarily, “whispering” or other noises you may hear and want to mention or talk about with someone else. So that’s what we’ll do for a little while. Something a bit more useful I think.

속삭이다 (sogsagida) | “whisper”

i.e.,

  • 그는 매우 큰 소리로 속삭. (geuneun maeu keun solilo sogsag.) | “He whispers very loudly.”
  • 그녀는 속삭였어. (geunyeoneun sogsag-yeoss-eo.) | “She whispered.”
  • 바람은 속삭임 느꼈다. (balam-eun sogsag-im neukkyeossda.) | “The wind felt like a whisper.”

Okay so that’s it for today! The last sentence is questionable. I’m still learning how to do verbal noun conjugations.
