날씨 (Nalssi) [Word of the Day] | Grammar Application Post

안녕하세요!

Alright so yesterday, I kinda hinted at the theme for this week. You may remember when I tried to do something like this before. I set a theme but I only gave vocabulary words or a list of words surrounding the theme. I stopped doing that because honestly I didn’t think it was very helpful just piling on words and not really showing you how to use them. However, this time will be different. I’m doing “word application”, meaning, I’ll give the word, some familiar (a quick search and you might actually find it as a duplicate post) and some you haven’t seen before but this time, we’re applying grammar concepts to the examples.

Today’s WOTD is just an example of how the week will go.

날씨 (Nalssi) | “weather”

i.e.,

  • nalssineun bakk-e aleumdaun. (날씨는 밖에 아름다운. )| “The weather is beautiful outside. /The weather outside is beautiful.” [S-O-V/S-A Sentence Structure/location particle]
  • man-yag nalssiga nappeun ulineun gaji anh-eul geos-ida. (만약 날씨가 나쁜 우리는 가지 않을 것이다.) | “If the weather is bad, we won’t go.” [If/then grammar application]
Even though this week’s theme is  밖에 “outside”, we won’t be focused on the weather. We’ll be talking moreso about places outside. Today’s post is merely an example of how this week will look.
If you guys like the new format, this may be the new change for the WOTD. Let me know in the comments below!
