얼마나 ‎(eolmana) [Word of the Day]

안녕하세요와! (Annyeonghaseyo!)

안녕 여러분! (annyeong yeoleobun!) I kinda took the weekend off this week. I really just needed a break. I had so much going on and I really just needed to recharge. However, I’m back! There won’t be a Grammar of the Week this week. I literally couldn’t think of anything. Today, I’ve decided to just go ahead and try something new for the start of the week. I’m kinda going back to “who, what, when, where, why” questions today.

얼마나 ‎(eolmana) [adv]: “how many”

Examples:

  • 얼마나 많은 아이들이 할 있어요? (eolmana manh-eun aideul-i hal iss-eoyo?) = how many children do you have?
  • 얼마나 많은 사람들이 만났다? (eolmana manh-eun salamdeul-i mannassda?) = how many people did you meet?

(많은 (manh-eun) remember that this is adjective meaning “many”.)

So that’s it for today. Tomorrow we’ll be back to directions!

내일까지! (naeilkkaji!)
